CANCER SURVIVOR RETREATS
There is something magical about stepping out of your comfort zone, meeting new people, traveling, discovering new things and making memories with complete strangers. Have you ever heard the saying, “walk in as strangers, and leave as friends”? Well this will be your outcome when you attend a retreat with an open mind and a grateful heart.
As with any situation in life, you get out of it what you put into it.
IF AND WHEN YOU ARE READY AND FEEL THAT TUG TO CONTINUE YOUR HEALING
PROCESS, HERE ARE A FEW RETREATS TO AID IN THAT PROCESS.
Camp Mak-a-dream
Our Adult Retreats, the Ovarian Cancer Retreats and the Women’s Cancer Retreat, are unique experiences for women (ages 18+) in various stages of cancer therapy or those that have completed treatment. Women with cancer are often forced to balance their own health care needs with roles as professionals, caregivers, mother, daughters, and wives. Our five-day retreats enable them to set aside daily routines, focus on their own needs and develop a core community of support.
Casting Carolinas
Casting Carolinas provides a comprehensive support and educational program for women surviving cancer. Our Three-Day Retreat Weekends offer a full schedule of activities that includes basic fly fishing instruction, medical education and groups that provide opportunities for support and connection with other women surviving cancer.
ESCAPE
The only gathering of its kind, ESCAPE is the premier event designed by and for community cancer advocates. It combines features of a national leadership conference and a restorative retreat, with an underlying focus on the wellness of the individual advocate as well as their cancer organization. Miraval is home to ESCAPE. Dedicated to inspiring Life in Balance, it is an integral component of the conference with its mind/body recharge effect.
Stowe Weekend of Hope
The Stowe Weekend of Hope offers a healthy, inspirational retreat weekend for cancer survivors and their families. The annual forum offers education, enlightenment, inspiration and retreat in the restorative environment of Stowe. This enriching experience is unique in that it provides support for the survivor, the care giver, and family members.
Wind River Cancer Wellness and Retreats
Our unique, four-day Cancer Wellness Retreats are designed to empower cancer survivors to work on the non-medical aspects of cancer. In a safe, tranquil setting, men and women living with cancer are able to slow down, learn new tools to help reduce stress, tap their creativity, and connect with other survivors leading to increased quality of life.
