Did you know a teal pumpkin on someone's porch may have a different meaning than you think? As you are getting ready for Halloween tricks and treats we wanted to make sure everyone has a fun and safe night. In 2012 a food allergy group in Tennessee launched the Teal Pumpkin Project.

The Teal Pumpkin Project highlights the many children with food allergies that cannot consume traditional Halloween treats. A teal pumpkin placed on a porch is a signal that the Halloween treats given at that house have taken into consideration food allergies. FARE (Food Allergy Research & Education) encourages anyone who puts out a teal pumpkin to hand out glow sticks and small toys in addition to candy.

We know here at Teal Diva we are all obsessed with the color teal. We want to incorporate the color into all of our outfits, home decor, and holiday celebrations! Just be mindful when placing teal pumpkins out on your porch, better yet grab some glow sticks from the store and be ready for those kids who might ring your doorbell who have a food allergy. That way you can show your ovarian cancer support and make a kid with an allergy smile!
There are so many ways to decorate with teal pumpkins or orange pumpkins and we want to see what you all come up with! Maybe you could carve an awareness ribbon into your gourd (link to the kit below!), cover that plump squash with teal glitter, and use pins to sequin out your cute little jack-o-lantern!
We want to see what teal creations you create!
