September, 2020 - in the middle of a pandemic, Teal Butterfly and Teal Diva collaborated on an event. Any time we have an opportunity to partner with Teal Butterfly, we know the event will be successful and a lot of fun. Our first flock the yard event was everything we hoped it would be and we are looking forward to many more.
We will share a little about the event but I think it is equally, if not more, important to share how this event came to be.

Many moons ago, I met two amazing humans at the OCRA National Conference. We were all from NC = insta connection. Jean was diagnosed with ovarian cancer and a friend she met through treatment decided to create a nonprofit called No to O and through this nonprofit an event called Flock the Yard. Jean and her co founder have both passed and the nonprofit dissolved. Teal Diva acquired the teal flamingos from this event waiting for the right partnership to launch the event in the community.
Teal Diva and Teal Butterfly had a few discussions and wanted a hospital partnership that was as excited about this event as we were. We found that excitement with the Levine Cancer Institute at Atrium Health.
A huge THANK YOU to everyone who sponsored a flamingo or a flock in our first ever Flock The Yard for Ovarian Cancer. Over $16,000 was raised for an event that came together in less than five weeks and during Covid-19 to boot. It's amazing what we can do when we work together.
