I was diagnosed in 2009, at the tender age of 28, with stage 3 squamous cell carcinoma (cervical cancer). Being a young single mother with a 2 year old, it was by far the most surprising, devastating, and mind blowing experience I had experienced yet! With this news, my life took an 180 degree turn into walking in my purpose.
After surgery to find out that the cancer had spread to my lymph nodes, several rounds of cisplatin - chemotherapy, internal and external radiation to the cervix and pelvis area, being thrown into complete menopause, and told I could never have children again, I knew that I had to begin my pursuit of living my best life now!
7 years later and cancer FREE, I now share my story as I pass the MIC- Motivating, Inspiring and Changing Lives with my Traci Lynn Jewelry Business; as the CEO and Founder of Serenity, Courage and Wisdom, Inc. bringing awareness through the Arts; ministering to women through Faith Empowered Women Ministries; and as a speaker, mentor, teacher and coach within my new company - La Luz Speaks, Inc.
My goal is to help women realize that we need to get comfortable being uncomfortable talking about all female parts and cancers. You will never know if you don't know, which means you won't know about your body, if you don't get to know about your body.
